In the newborn days there are lots of nappies and the smell is ok. So possibly during those early days, you could manage with a normal bin as you’ll be emptying it regularly. Personally, I like that with the flick of the handle, it’s fully contained. But it’s now that we’ve started solids, there are fewer nappies but the smell, my god the smell! I thank myself every time I’m in the nursery and get just a whiff, just a tiny scent that this bin is working its magic and trapping the stench.
You might as well get this bin early, because you’ll 100% thank yourself once solids start!
A few tips:
- Don’t overfill the top. Empty the compartment in a couple of goes if you are dealing with a nappy and many wipes to avoid getting the contents stuck.
- To replace the bag, hold the base of the bin between your feet and spin the top to unlock.
- The matching Babyrest refill bags are best but in a pinch, a regular bag can work too.
