I found that if the buckle piece cover isn't hit with the buckle cover, it can leak when my nephew had an accident but the main area contained my daughter's accident and didn't leak forward. As my daughter uses it fulltime I've never had a leak out issue. So maybe make the buckle surround taller for boys.

I purchased this ultra dry seat with my new car seat as we were also toilet training and thought this would be perfect. Unfortunately this is not 100% waterproof and when my son did have an accident it still went through to the car seat. It still helps stop the car seat from getting to wet and I was able to give the car seat a sponge without having to put the whole thing in the wash, but I wouldn’t call it 100% and purhaps this should be taken out of the description.
