We use the sun cover with the stroller in the "lie-flat" position for our newborn. It is very easy to secure to the stroller and can be quickly partially opened to interact with our baby. It is also compact enough to be tucked neatly in the stroller tray once folded. It is not an insect screen, but definitely helps when walking through a swarm of flying bugs! One downside was at times, the sunshine still got through the side mesh panels pretty much unfiltered and glared on the baby's face. Overall, this is worth getting for the Otto stroller.
