- can this be secured without a head rest?Our headrests eed to be removed for best installation of our carseats, will the mat fit well without being able to have elastic held behind a headrest?

Question by : Angela on Jan 6, 2019 08:09:37 PM - Can a seatbelt be installed on the Diono Ultra Mat?As per the following - "Ultra Mat is compatible with LATCH or seatbelt installation." Does this mean you install the belt on the ultra mat and charge accordingly? I'd like to use this as a restraint because my daughter tends to fall asleep during car journeys. When she sleeps she falls forward and to the side however is too old to be in a booster seat.
Hi Starlyn, thank you for your enquiry, the Diono Ultramat is used to protect your seat from the Car Restraint, this cannot be used as a safety device or as a car seat. It is only to be used under a car seat to stop the car seat moving or to protect the seats from getting damage. We would advise talking to your nearest store in regards to options for your child in regards to a suitable car seat if still applicable. we recommend a child use a car seat or booster until they are 148cm high, this way they are tall enough to position well in the seat so that the seatbelt isn't incorrectly placed.
