Hi Jaskaran, Thank you for your enquiry. The CARES Child Aviation Restraint Harness is for children from 1 year of age and from 10kg upto 20kg. These are great for keeping your child restrained during flight and is a much safer option than using the airplane seatbelts. We hope this helps with your query.
Question by : Jaskaran on Apr 18, 2015 08:59:03 PM - Can these only be used on economy seats?Just wanted to clarify whether these be used on the premium economy seats/ first class in air New Zealand planes or are they only tested for economy seats ?? Thought this would be a good option to use for our 22 month old (who will be 2 at the time) rather than taking all 3 seats on board. Thank you

Question by : Arlene on Nov 12, 2018 10:45:07 AM - How does this affect the passenger behind the child? The harness seems to need to go all the way over the seat - does this impact the passenger behind; their use of the tray table or tv in the seat?
Hi Melanie, thank you for your enquiry, the CARES harness should not affect the passenger behind, but I would check with the airline before travel to make sure of seat placement. We hope this helps. if you follow the link https://www.babyonthemove.co.nz/store-locations/ this will take you to our online store finder. Our next Trip to Brisbane I will order the Travel Harness Strap Thank you again.Baby on the Move what a AWESOME experience we had sharing all our adventures with our daughter.
Here background is
Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral palsy
Stifling of the Muscle.
Travelling long haul to US and UK in a few months so will get lots of use.
My wriggly toddler figured out how to undo the airplane lap belt within about 2minutes of take-off, but as he also had the harness on he was still safely restrained in his seat and I had enough time to resecure his lap belt.
I flew Qantas and was questioned by one air hostess as to whether it was an approved restraint. CARES is specifically mentioned in their policies and a few other airlines.
A great product
