Who’s hungry for a healthy snack?

Children can pretend to slice fruit with the Cutting Fruit set and learn about different types of fruit, colours, and the concept of halves and thirds.

Fruits included are pear, apple, banana, orange, kiwifruit, lemon and watermelon.

The Cutting Fruit set features realistic images and is innovatively designed with touch fasteners that hold the pieces together but also enable them to be easily sliced by the wooden knife. The pretend food can also be added to a play kitchen for lots more fun!

Learning Outcomes: Helps children learn to name and identify different fruits, build hand-eye coordination, and develop fine motor skills and problem-solving skills. Safe knife/cutting skills can also be taught through this set, which includes a pretend wooden knife.

This is such an awesome toy for littlies - hardy easily withstands being shoved in little mouths as it's wooden. We used this in a creche for 6month - 4-year-old littlies during a weekly women's bible study meet, and it was one of the toys most popular with the largest age-range and both genders had a blast with it. Encourages fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, make-believe play, perseverance (sometimes it can take the younger kids a little time to figure out how much force to put on to "cut" the fruit), and sharing (as they distribute the cut fruit to playmates and carers). Also, encourages a little bit of cheeky creativity as some of the older toddlers decided to mismatch the fruit halves and create new fruits. At $28 it might seem a little expensive to buy for your own kid, but as it's wood it's very durable and won't die before it gets handed on to the next kid. I feel it's totally worth it.
