- Transition to car belt from 5 point harnessHi, I am looking for new car-seats for both my kids. A - is a large 3.5 yr old. M - is a tall 5.4 yr old. Both are currently in 5 point harnesses and I want to keep them in 5 point harnesses for as long as we can (7 or 8yrs if possible?!). What carseats/boosters would you recommend for this? They all seem to suggest transitioning to car belt about age 4. Is this recommended in NZ? Thanks!
Hi Anna, thank you for your enquiry, we would recommend the Britax frontier as you can keep the children in a harness till 40kg and 147cm. the 5 point harness is so much safer and the longer you can keep them harnessed the better it is. This seat also becomes a booster up to 54kg and 157 cm so would allow for this seat to be used until child is truly ready for a car seat belt only. This seat has self-adjusting straps so as you move the head rest up the straps go up so makes life easier if using for different size/ age kids. We hope this helps. ?For further information on this or any of our other products available, if you follow the link https://www.babyonthemove.co.nz/store-locations/ this will take you to our online store finder.
